The CAP's Distinguished Service Medal is the third highest decoration possible in the CAP and is awarded for conspicuous performance of outstanding service in a duty of great responsibility. This is usually awarded for completion of an extremely difficult duty of marked national significance. This design was decommissioned in 1982.
