This is an Astron Alpha flying rocket model made of wood, steel, and cardboard. It is not known whether it was flown. The model has a nylon parachute in the nose. Once the motors stopped burning the parachute deployed and the model gently returned to Earth for reuse. The manufacturer is unknown. John Langford donated it to the museum in 1996.
This object is not on display at the National Air and Space Museum. It is either on loan or in storage.
