This is an unassembled Astra flying rocket model in its retail package. Made by an unknown Yugoslav manufacturer, the body is pasteboard, the fins are balsa, the nosecone is plastic, and the parachute is cloth. Three motors are included. At the end of powered flight, the parachute deploys and the model returns to Earth, enabling its reuse.
G. Harry Stine, a pioneer in the field of flying rocket models, donated this artifact to the museum in 1973.
