This is an unassembled interceptor missile flying model rocket in its original box, which was made by Aurora Plastics. The interceptor missile did not exist in reality. The rocket body is plastic. The kit also contains three bags of "liquid fuel" pellets to propel the model and a plastic launch stand.
G. Harry Stine, a pioneer in the field of model rockets, donated this artifact to NASM in 1973.
This object is not on display at the National Air and Space Museum. It is either on loan or in storage.
