Physical Description
Hand-colored etching of an ascension of Charles and Robert. Image shows the balloon aloft above a courtyard with the barrels and pipes used for inflating a gas balloon. Two figures are shown in the gondola, and one has dropped his flag. A crowd has gathered in the courtyard to watch the ascension. The title of the print is at the top of the page and printed backwards, indicating that the print was meant to be viewed through a zograscope. Descriptions of the scene are below the image in French and German.
