Shown here is one of two F-1 engine actuators retrieved from the restoration of the Saturn V rocket at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, Florida, in 1992.
The F-1 engines on the S-IC stage of the Saturn V were gimbaled, meaning that they could move to steer the rocket during ascent. The actuators, which attached the engines to the booster frame enabled engine movement for this purpose.
