During a typical Shuttle mission, crewmembers use sleeping bags that attach to the walls or lockers in the crew cabin. Each sleeping bag consists of a sleep restraint pallet (a support pad), a removable sleep restraint liner for cover and warmth, and a removable pillow with head restraint. The liner has a center-front zipper and openings for the arms and head; it attaches to the pallet by side zippers.
This liner is marked non-flight and probably was used for training. NASA then transferred the liner to the Museum.
