This spacefood package contains beef with gravy, and was flown on Apollo 16 in April, 1972. It was not consumed during the flight and was returned to Earth. This meal was prepared as "wet-pack" food, in contrast to the more common technique of dehydrating spacefood, which then required rehydration with hot water before eating. Apollo astronauts were provided with three meals per day which provided approximately 2,800 calories.

The food was contained in a 4-ply, aluminized, laminated film coating, which protected the food from loss of flavor, moisture and oxygen invasion.

Transferred from NASA - Johnson Space Center to the Smithsonian Institution in 1986.
