Crackers were a typical snack for Space Shuttle crews. Most foods stocked on the Shuttle were processed for storage at room temperature and packaged in individual portions. Some commercial products, like boxed crackers and cookies, were separated into small servings. Astronauts could choose foods according to their personal tastes, but within nutritional guidelines. NASA transferred a variety of spare food items to the Museum during the Shuttle era.
