This spacefood package contains dehydrated food, packaged to provide a full astronaut meal identified as Day 5, Meal B of the Apollo 11 mission in July 1969. It was not consumed during the mission and was returned to Earth.

Each Apollo crew member was provided with three meals per day, providing approximately 2,800 calories. The food was freeze-dried and was easily reconstituted by the astronaut with a water probe dispenser, which inserted one half ounce of hot or cold water as required.

This food package was found in the collection, but was likely transferred from NASA to the Museum in the 1970s or 1980s.
