The Space Shuttle is not equipped with a shower or bath, but astronauts use soap, washcloths, wet-wipes, and small towels for personal hygiene during a mission. In addition to these items, each astronaut has a kit stocked with toothpaste, deodorant, lotion, and other products for personal hygiene and grooming. This is one of several extra washcloths from the first Shuttle mission, STS-1, in April 1981.
Transferred from NASA to the Smithsonian Institution in 1982.
