This stamp commemorates German Titov's flight of Vostok 2. On 6 August 1961, German Titov became the second man to orbit the Earth and the First person to stay in orbit for a day. Titov's flight on board Vostok took place less than four months after the historic first human spaceflight of Yuri Gagarin.

The Soviet military attache donated this item to the museum.
