This is a stand for a 1:24 scale model of the La Crosse, a U.S. Army surface-to-surface missile based on mobile launchers. It had a range of 19 miles and carried a conventional or nuclear warhead. First deployed in Western Europe in the late 1950s, it was withdrawn from service early the following decade. The Army Ballistic Missile Agency built the model and stand and donated them to NASM in 1961.
This object is not on display at the National Air and Space Museum. It is either on loan or in storage.
