This is the original stand for the 11-foot model of the Starship Enterprise created for the filming of the "Star Trek" TV show, which ran for three seasons from 1966-1969. The stand was cut, bent, and removed during the restoration of the Enterprise model by Rogay, Inc., during November 1991-February 1992, in preparation for the model's exhibit in the "Star Trek" exhibit at the National Air & Space Museum. The blue chalk on the stand remains from its use filming in front of a blue screen. Paramount Pictures donated the stand along with the model to the Smithsonian in 1974.
