Japan Optic Industries Co. Inc. (Nihon Kogaku Kougyo KK) (NIKKO)
Wooden box painted grey. Has black metal handle on the lid. The lid is on a hinge and is held closed with two metal hook clasps, inside there is a fabric strap to hold the lid in place when it is open. The lid has Japanese writing on the top. The exterior of the box has tape remnants around the seam where the lid and main body of the box separate. On the front of the box is a metal plate with No. 60249 and Japanese characters. Inside the box are compartments and supports for the gun sight. There are extra pieces inside including glass plates and light bulbs. In one of the compartments is a paper envelope with Japanese writing and inside are small pieces of plastic. On the inside of the lid is a piece of paper attached with Japanse characters. There are two paper idetification tags from the War Department with information about the sight.
