This is a one piece "Sidcot" flying suit 1940 Pattern. The suit was worn by pilots in Britain’s Royal Air Force during World War II. The suit is a redevelopment of the original Sidcot suit from World War I. The suit was first introduced in 1930 and was continually redeveloped until the suit was retired after the war.

This suit was worn by the donor Len Morgan (1923-2005). In the spring of 1941 before the United States entered World War II, Morgan went to Canada and jointed the Royal Canadian Air Force and earned his RCAF wings on November 21, 1941. Following the entry of the United States in the war, Morgan transferred into the U.S. Army Air Forces and served in North Africa and Mediterranean theater with Air Transport Command.
