Astronauts don’t leave Earth without it. Duct tape is handy for repairs and, like Velcro, helps hold things in place. It is visible in many photographs of space crew activity and crew work areas. Duct tape helped save the Apollo 13 crew and the Apollo 17 lunar rover. NASA recorded that this roll of ordinary duct tape returned with the final Hubble Space Telescope servicing crew on Space Shuttle mission STS-125 in 2009.
