Bronze globe with Bell X-1 aircraft; on wood base.
The trophy has a total of six plaques around the base. The plaque on the front describes the topic of the trophy. The first plaque to the right of the front plaque has names of winners for 1948, 1948, 1950, 1951, 1952, and 1953. There are four other plaques around the base that are all blank.
