This velometer (air velocity meter) is part of the test equipment kit from the backup Skylab Orbital Workshop that is displayed in the Museum. It could be used with the plug-in air velocity meter probe to measure airflow. Skylab was a U.S. space station launched into low Earth orbit in May 1973. Three different three-man crews occupied the orbital laboratory until February 1974. Skylab was equipped with several tool kits and devices for in-flight maintenance tasks, as well as scientific instruments for a variety of research projects.

NASA transferred this velometer to the Museum in 1975.
