This miniature wagon by Wyandotte Toys from the 1930s or 40s has a space, or near-space theme, indicated by the name "Flash," probably borrowed loosely from the name of the popular space hero Flash Gordon, and "Strato-Wagon," probably from the word "stratospheric." In addition, the fins on the back of the toy evoke the "streamline moderne" style of the time.
At only 9 inches long, the toy is far too small to be anything other than a toy to be used with dolls or played with in the manner of a toy truck. This is not a vehicle for riding in by a child.
Collector Michael O'Harro donated this wagon toy to the Museum in 1993.
This object is not on display at the National Air and Space Museum. It is either on loan or in storage.
