COVID-19 Message

The Udvar-Hazy Center reopened to the public on July 24. We have worked to create a safe environment for visitors and staff and you will notice changes to how you visit the Museum such as requiring each visitor to reserve a free timed entry pass and to follow safety requirements. Visit the Udvar-Hazy Center webpage for full visitor requirements and to reserve a timed entry pass.

As you plan your visit, please remember to review government travel guidelines or restrictions.

The Museum on the National Mall will remain closed until further notice.

We are not currently accepting reservation requests for in-person guided tours and other programs but are now offering virtual field trips and story times. Learn more.

Follow us on social media and check back on this page, for the latest information. In the meantime, we invite the public to explore the Museum's online resources through the Air and Space Anywhere page and K-12 Learning Resources portal.

Reopening the Udvar-Hazy Center

Our Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center has reopened as of Friday, July 24. Ellen Stofan, the John and Adrienne Mars Director of the National Air and Space Museum, shares what to expect on your visit — and how to prepare.

COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that is believed to mainly spread from person-to-person contact. The Smithsonian is doing its part to mitigate transmission intensity, and we ask you, our visitors, to do the same and help us reduce the spread of COVID-19. You must follow all posted instructions while visiting the Smithsonian, including instructions about wearing face coverings and social distancing. Despite these measures, the risk of contracting COVID-19 could increase by visiting the Smithsonian. By visiting the Smithsonian, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
