This is a model of unknown scale of a ramjet powered vehicle designated the M44, The model was made by the Lewis Research Center of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), one of NASA's facilities that conducted research and development on ramjets for use for use in supersonic aircraft. There is no information available on the history of the M44. The Lewis Research Center donated this model to NASM in 1966.
This object is not on display at the National Air and Space Museum. It is either on loan or in storage.
