Did you know that there were American airmen who served in the Polish air force during the Polish-Soviet war in 1920? Named after the Polish patriot who served in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, the Kosciuszko Squadron consisted of Polish and American pilots who flew for Poland in its struggle to defend its recently won nationhood against the newly-created Soviet Union. Join curator Chris Moore as he discusses the history of the squadron and the Americans—none of whom had any Polish ancestry—who flew under the Polish flag.

Meet at the nose of the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird in the Boeing Aviation Hangar.
