Apollo 11 Launch Celebration

Join us at the Udvar-Hazy Center on July 16 as we open early to celebrate the 50th anniversary of launch of Apollo 11! The event will include:
Broadcast of NASA TV's program celebrating the launch, starting at 9:15 am
"Let's Talk Spaceflight" with shuttle astronaut Sandy Magnus, at 10:00 and 11:00 am
Materials from the National Air and Space Museum Archives
Hands-on activtiies and discovery stations
Lunar story time at 11:00 and 11:30 am
"Driven to Explore" NASA mobile exhibit from 12:00 to 5:30 pm
While you’re here, check out artifacts from the Apollo 11 mission, like the Mobile Quarantine Facility and Apollo 11 flotation collar.
Parking and gates open at 8:00 am. Access to the Center begins at 8:45 am.
