We have sent people and machines into space for over half a century now. The view from orbit is incredible and informative. In celebration of Earth Day, Piers Sellers, a climate scientist and former NASA astronaut, will take you on a tour of our home planet as you have never seen it before.
Piers Sellers is currently Deputy Director of the Sciences and Exploration Directorate and Acting Director of the Earth Sciences Division at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Sellers's experience as an astronaut and a researcher focused on global climate problems (particularly those involving interactions between the biosphere and the atmosphere), gives him a unique perspective on global environmental issues.
