Gather your little ones for story time with the National Air and Space Museum. Museum educator Ann Caspari will read the original story At the Air Show. In this story, Lou goes to an air show at the local airport, and the three friends are inspired by the fast flying jets and their cool maneuvers to create high flying kites. After the story, we will make simple kites that you can take outside and fly. Be sure to bring paper, tape, popsicle or craft sticks, and yarn or string (you might want markers or crayons to decorate the kites!).
We'd love to see your crafts! Share with us on Facebook, Twitter (@airandspace) and Instagram (@airandspacemuseum) using #AirandSpaceAtHome.
Flights of Fancy Storytime is made possible through the generous support of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.
We rely on the generous support of donors, sponsors, members, and other benefactors to share the history and impact of aviation and spaceflight, educate the public, and inspire future generations. With your help, we can continue to preserve and safeguard the world’s most comprehensive collection of artifacts representing the great achievements of flight and space exploration.
