NASA and the United States Forest Service have had a long partnership. Apollo 14 astronaut Stuart Roosa began his career as a Forest Service Smoke Jumper. The 2012 Space Act Agreement unites the two agencies in raising awareness about the importance of fire prevention and fire safety. Now, Smokey Bear, the Forest Service and NASA Expedition 31's mascot, will celebrate his 68th birthday aboard the International Space Station.

Join Museum Curator Margaret Weitekamp and a representative from the United States Forest Service for a historical look at the collaboration between NASA and the Forest Service.
