Views of Africa
An exploration of diverse perspectives of the Earth, focusing on the dynamic landscapes of Africa.
This exhibition is now closed.
This collaboration with the National Museum of African Art presented an exploration of diverse perspectives of the Earth, focusing on the dynamic landscapes of Africa. On display were images of Africa taken from space by a range of orbiting satellites. Some images showed the land in realistic ways, while others appeared more abstract. Also included in this exhibition was a new artwork by South African artist Jeremy Wafer, who draws inspiration from views of the planet. His work explores the human connection to the Earth and how we live on and use the land.
This exhibition is presented in conjunction with Earth Matters: Earth as Material and Metaphor at the National Museum of African Art.
