On June 1, 2013, visitors were using the 16" Cook Memorial Telescope at the Phoebe Waterman Haas Public Observatory at the Museum in Washington, DC to observe the planet Saturn. Meanwhile, the 4" finderscope attached to the 16" telescope took this image.
Saturn's amazing rings are on full display. The faint gap toward the outer edge of the rings is the Cassini Division, the widest of many gaps in Saturn's rings. Earth's Moon would comfortably fit into the Cassini Division.
