A close-up of metal corrosion on Wiley Post's helmet prior to conservation treatment. This helmet was a part of the world's first practical pressure suits designed by Wiley Post with Russell S. Colley of B.F. Goodrich. The helmet was taken off of display after white corrosion deposits were noticed on the metal. It was sent to the Emil Buehler Conservation Laboratory in Chantilly, Virginia to undergo treatment.
