    On December 18, 2015, the Curiosity rover captured this view of Mars’ Namib Dune. This dark-sand dune is 5 meters (16 feet) high and 7 meters (23 feet) from the camera.

    The dune is part of the Bagnold Dune Field on the northwestern flank of Mount Sharp. The mountain (arrow) is visible in the background.
