EX1-A Suit

EX1-A Suit
The EX1-A suit from the 1968 Apollo Applications Project, constructed by the AiResearch Corporation, was made from two layers of Nomex with a layer of Neoprene sandwiched in between. Its "toroidal joint systems" - from the word "torus," meaning a doughnut-shaped object - permitted the maximum amount of movement without changing the internal pressure of the suit. The goal was to decrease astronaut fatigue.
