John Macready and Oakley Kelly with Orville Wright in Dayton, Ohio. Macready and Kelly attempted their transcontinental flight twice, starting from San Diego, but failed. In April 1923 after their second attempt, they set a world endurance record in the T-2 over McCook Field, Dayton, Ohio. Here, they stand with Orville Wright after their 36-hour flight, a record that earned them the Mackay Trophy.
