Get a look behind the scenes as we installed "Outside the Spacecraft: 50 Years of Extra-vehicular Activity," a new exhibition on view at the Museum in Washington, DC January 8 through June 8, 2015. Members of the exhibition team share some of the unique objects, design considerations, and conservation challenges in displaying delicate artifacts that represent the personal spacecraft – the spacesuit – that astronauts need to perform EVAs outside the spacecraft.  Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the first spacewalks in 1965, the exhibition presents art, photography, artifacts, and personal accounts that relate the continuing story of EVA.
