Yamada Diary

Handwritten pages from the Yamada Diary (dated July 25 to August 8, 1943) including colored pencil drawings depicting an aircraft in flight with a portrait of a Japanese pilot (left), and two crewmen with the nose of an aircraft (right); loose postcard at top is a New Year's Day greeting to Yamada's parents, sent from the Philippines. Yamada appears to have been a Japanese aircraft ground crewman with occasional flight duties who served in Manchuria (China), Korea, Burma, and the Philippines.
