On May 5, the National Air and Space Museum will debut a film that is not about aviation or space on the Museum's daytime schedule. Michael Jordan to the Max will provide viewers with an intimate look at Michael Jordan, the basketball superstar who led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA Championships. The first IMAX® film to exclusively feature an individual, Michael Jordan to the Max celebrates the personal attributes that have made Jordan not only a basketball champion, but a hero who transcends borders, cultures, age and gender. "The Smithsonian prides itself on preserving and presenting the most important aspects of our nation's culture and history," said Jack Dailey, Director of the National Air and Space Museum. "Michael Jordan is a figure of true historical significance, and it is with great enthusiasm that we present his story. We also expect the film to attract record numbers of children and families who are perhaps visiting the National Air and Space Museum for the first time. We will share with them the excitement of visiting a museum, and show them that science, like basketball, is a contact sport."
