Preservation and Restoration Museum Specialist, Welding Fabrication
Bio

Meghann Girard works as a welder fabricator in the Preservation and Restoration Unit of the Collections Department. In support of ongoing efforts to display, transport, and care for the Museum’s collection, she designs and fabricates structural steel supports, rigging fixtures, and artifact mounts. Meghann received a B.A. from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University and started her career in the museum conservation field working for several institutions across the East Coast. Following her passion for craftsmanship she went onto complete a technical degree in welding at Northern Virginia Community College and gained certifications in numerous welding processes.
