    First Lieutenant Dellie Otto Ullrich, of Washington County, Texas, enlisted in the Army Air Corps on June 1, 1941, at the age of 20. He attended the Army Air Corps Advance Flying School at Mather Field, where he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant on January. 19, 1942. Dellie was stationed at several points in California during his service, and was promoted to First Lieutenant in the spring of 1942. He died on June 15, 1943, in Delta, Millard County, Utah, while on a mission as a ferry pilot. First Lieutenant Ullrich was scheduled to be promoted to Captain, at the age of 22, at the time of his death.
