Fred Passanno loved to fly. Aside from his family, flying was his life. A former navigator in the USAF, Fred was a pioneer in later civilian life in experimental aircraft, building and flying many of his own from Clearwater, Florida. So much was flying a part of his life, he inspired his daughter, Nicole, to become a pilot and to later work at NASA where she is now an astronaut. Unfortunately, Fred was killed in a flying accident, ironically in an experimental aircraft though not one of his own in Florida. His loss is missed by all, but his memory lives on.
