    First Lieutenant Garrett Edward Eddy from Seattle, Washington was born on December 22, 1944 and was 25 years old when he died in Southeast Asia. Lt. Eddy was a Rustic Forward Air Controller, assigned to the 19th Tactical Air Support Squadron at Bien Hoa Air Base, Republic of Vietnam, when he was shot down by automatic weapons fire 25 miles northwest of Kampong Cham, Cambodia on October 1, 1970. His O-2A aircraft crashed in flames on Lt. Eddy’s 162nd day in combat. His body was recovered and his name is located at 07W 103 on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
