    Lois T. Young was born on November 22, 1925 in Pennsylvania. She served her country and supported aviation as a nurse in the USAF Nursing Corp from 1948 to 1953 with the rank of LT.
    She attended nursing school at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, PA and obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA in 1948. Upon completion of her degree, Lt. Young enlisted in the USAF Nursing Corp and actively served in Germany and England. She married Lt. Col (USAF Ret) Elbert D. Young, Jr. in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1953. While married to Lt. Col (USAF Ret) Elbert D. Young, Jr.; she actively supported all his endeavors, leaves and assignments while maintaining the home for their 6 children. Through her efforts and strength, she was able to free her husband to serve their country.
