Victor P. Levy enlisted in the Army Air Force during World War II. His passion for flying landed him at Curtis Field located in Brady, Texas on October 2, 1943 as a member of Class 44-D. It was here he honed his skills as a pilot in their flying school.
Victor was based in Italy during the war. His primary role was to fly from base to the front line where combat was taking place. It was here that Victor picked up soldiers and transported them back to Rome where there was a large hospital.
Victor’s love for aviation did not stop after the war. Once he was discharged from the Army in September of 1945, he joined the Air Force Reserves. At Mitchell Field located in Long Island, New York Victor continued to fly for the next three years. His passion for flying is still evident today, as he loves to recount stories from his years of service during World War II.
