    1st. Lt. William M. Daughton, of the 406th Fighter Squadron 371st Fighter Group. He served in the European Theater of World War II. He flew a P47 Thunderbolt on 120 missions. William received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 17 Clusters and 5 Battle Stars.

    He returned to the United States in March, 1945 and was stationed at Bluethenthal Air Field, Wilmington, NC where he taught Combat Flying. He was discharged September 26, 1945. He maintained his flight status with the U.S.A.F. Reserves at Stewart Field, Newburgh NY until May 19, 1955.
