Graduated in class 43-G, Tuskegee Army Air Field, in July 1943. Went overseas with 332nd Fighter Group in January 1944. Flew 132 combat missions with 12th and 15th Air Forces.

Returned to Tuskegee Air Base in March 1945. Trained as an instrument and multi-engine instructor.

Honorably discharged in 1946.
