Raymond flew a B-17 as pilot in the 100th Bomb Group, 418 Squadron, 8th Air Force. He was stationed at Thorp Abbotts Field, England, from March 1944 through August 1944. He and his crew flew 35 successful missions, mostly in the B-17 "The Royal Flush."
