    Born July 2, 1921 Chattanooga, Tennessee. Died December 12, 2000.
    WW II – served with the 4th Ferry Command, Memphis, Tennessee. Delivered A-20Bs, B-17s, B-24s, B-25s, B-26s, C-46s, C-47s and C-87s to Scotland, England, North Africa, Middle East, and India. In June, 1944, became Chief Navigation Briefing Officer for the Africa - Middle East Wing of the Ferry Command. His interest in aviation and navigation continued throughout his life. After retirement, he retraced many steps, back to Africa, Iceland, Greenland, England and Scotland. He shared his love of the stars with his family and his experiences on the B-17 as a docent at Palm Springs Air Museum
