Began his aviation career Jan 1941 at S.D. State College enrolling in CAR Training Course. Enlisted in the Army Air Corps Aug 13, 1941. Preliminary training Corsicana Texas and advanced training at Randolph Field Texas. Transferred to Victoria Texas where he received his commission and wings. Transferred to a base at Tallahassee Florida and later assigned to duty at Fort Mill N.C. Fatally injured while attempting an emergency landing on an authorized flight.
