Joined the USAF, December 1942. Graduated as pilot and had transition training in single, twin and four engine aircraft. Was assigned to 379th Bomb Group, 527th Bomb Squadron at Kimbotton, England (ETO). At end of conflict in Europe was assigned to the 487th Bomb Group, 836th Bomb Squadron. Returned to the United States in July, 1945 and was released from the service in Octobaer of 1945.
