    Served for 22 years in U.S. Naval Aviation as engine mechanic, plane captain, flight mechanic and/or flight engineer on various types of reciprocating, turboprop and jet engine powered aircraft. The highlight was six tours in Antarctica with Naval Air Development Squadron Six (VX-6) during the years 1959 through 1968. This included many landings in previously unexplored areas and extensive photo mapping flights over uncharted areas of Antarctica. As a propulsion engineer for G.E. aircraft engines, worked on fielding and improving T700/CT7 turboshaft and turboprop engines over 20 year period.
