My father, Adel A Oubari, came to the US in 1950. He enlisted in the US Air National Guard, and served out of Van Nuys, CA in the late 50's. During this time he got his private pilot license. In the 1960's, he joined Cessna's Marketing team, and sold to the Middle East and Africa, quickly becoming their top salesman. In the mid-seventies, he worked for Grumman American and sold the bulk of Gulfstream jets during his 4 years there. He retired in the 80's, and in August of 1997, his final aircraft sale was when I bought my Cessna Skyhawk. In 2010, I got my chance to pay him back for teaching me the basics of flight before I learned to ride a bike: I took him up for a flight in my Skyhawk!
